  Klangstabil is a young duo of musicians interested in a conceptual approach of music. My interest for their record was i knew that this release was, from the liner notes :"All of these tracks have been recorded directly onto DAT in realtime by using only a Nintendo Gameboy with an additional Gameboy Camera cartridge and some simple effects." What an exciting program ! What we eventually got on this record are twelve tracks of cold music game. The compositions are mainly progressive rythmic patterns which sound either as purged out game music or poor kraftwerk-like melodies. Some tracks however become noisy and rumbling.
The result is generally disappointing and perhaps, offering the possibility to interact with the music through a CD-ROM/Nintendo support would have increased the interest of such a project.
