 The eleventh release of the very interesting Groundfault label (which produces cheap CDs by great artists as the RRR-Pure serie) honours the new japanese noise scene. Five tracks (the last being live) of ultra-harsh merciless noise from this very young talented Tokyoite artist. The sound has such a monolithic might that it definetely reminds me the first time I listened to Masonna/Merzbow. The comparison is here well-deserved unlike all these pretentious weak german-nazi-like bands invading the noise scene (or ebay). From the liner notes, robochanman uses handmade electronics + found materials to produce such a maelstrom of roaring sounds. As a matter of fact, the only recognizable instrument is the distorted guitar that you can hear in the intro of some tracks. This record proves that the relief of the ancient japanese noise exists....
